North Palm Beach Real Estate

North Palm Beach, Florida is an opulent town with an old-Florida attitude. Well known for its waterfront communities, manicured golf courses, and ocean view condos, North Palm Beach sits nine miles from downtown West Palm Beach and neighbors Juno Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, and Singer Island.

Though the town boasts many magnificent, multimillion dollar oceanfront estates, residents embrace a humble and generous spirit. In fact, Lost Tree Village, a private North Palm Beach oceanfront and golf course community, annually donates $2 million through its charitable fund to local organizations who are committed to serving those in need. Philanthropic generosity aside, North Palm residents also pride themselves on their easy, laid-back, Jimmy Buffet-style attitude.

As an example, when tempers flare for out-of-towners as the Intracoastal drawbridges on U.S. Highway One and PGA Boulevard lift to allow large yachts or fishing vessels to pass, village residents are more likely to roll the window down, inhale the salt air, smile at the car beside them and exclaim, “This is paradise!” Read More

The paradise property, which is comprised of 5.8 square miles, was first cultivated in 1903 by Dr. Henry Munyon as a fruit farm, harvesting tropical treats such as guava, mango, figs, limes, avocado, oranges, pears, and paw-paws. In the 1920s, the region began residential and commercial development but an economic collapse halted its completion. In 1954, John MacArthur purchased more than 2,000 acres which included the area of North Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Lake Park, and Palm Beach Shores. In 1956, under the direction of builders Richard Ross, Herbert Ross, John Schwencke, and Jay White, the master home development for North Palm Beach came to fruition.

Today, the town of North Palm Beach real estate area has slightly more than 12,000 residents and 6,000 households. MacArthur State Park, located off Jack Nicklaus Boulevard between Lost Tree Village and Singer Island, is an accurate representation of the tropical topography that existed prior to development. MacArthur donated the 225 acres, which includes Munyon Island, for land conservation and ecological protection. Residents and visitors alike enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, picnicking, hiking, bird-watching, and observing the turtle nests and hatchlings. The park, which is the only Florida state park in Palm Beach County, regularly hosts special events, fundraisers, and education programs. Other recreational parks include Lakeside Park, Anchorage Park, and Osborne Park. Lakeside Park offers breath-taking views of the Intracoastal Waterway, two playgrounds, tiki huts, grills, outdoor basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, and beach access. Anchorage Park, which is located in the heart of North Palm Beach Village, features a boat launch, boat storage, dog parks, playground, tot lot, baseball fields, volleyball courts, picnic shelters, and restroom facilities. Located off Prosperity Boulevard, Osborne Park features basketball courts, handball courts, baseball fields, batting cages, playground, and a multi-use activity building. The North Palm Beach Community Center has indoor basketball courts, fitness classes, playgrounds, and educational classes and activities for both children and adults. For tennis enthusiasts, the Tennis Center at the North Palm Beach Country Club has an active membership and offers private lessons, group clinics, camps, adult and junior socials, and daily matches. Also located at the Country Club is the North Palm Beach Pool which features lap pools, three kiddie pools, diving boards, restaurant, and tiki huts. During the summer, the pool hosts a family-friendly party every Friday night from 6 – 10:00 p.m. The party includes pool access, a D.J., and games. The snack shack and bar are open during this time as well.

Perhaps North Palm Beach Country Club is best known for its Jack Nicklaus Signature design golf course, one of only two public Nicklaus Signature courses in America. A long time resident of North Palm, Jack Nicklaus redesigned the golf course in 2006 for $1. Using the natural terrain and picturesque setting along the Intracoastal Waterway, this Par-71 golf course is ranked as one of the areas best for novice and professional golfers alike. After a round of golf or tennis match, locals frequent favorite restaurants such as Limoncello’s, Carmine’s Trattoria, Frigates Waterfront Bar and Restaurant, Hog Snapper, Waterway Café, Seasons 52, Ruth Chris Steak House, and Three Natives.

Children residing in North Palm Beach are privy to the Conservatory School, a public elementary school that encourages inquiry through academic exploration and music education. Modeled after El Sistema, the Conservatory School teaches all children to play a musical instrument in effort to achieve social change. Focusing on the development of personal character, empathy, and appreciation of all cultures, the school has received numerous accolades. While residents of North Palm are zoned for the Conservatory, many Palm Beach County students apply for admission through a lottery system. Private schools in the area include the Benjamin School, Saint Clare’s Catholic School, the Wiess School, and Saint Mark’s Episcopal School.

North Palm Beach real estate is comprised of many types of luxury and affordable homes including single family homes with reasonable prices, waterfront condos and oceanfront estates. The communities found within the town are just as varied as the homes, with each neighborhood offering it own unique style and amenities. Neighborhoods like Lost Tree Village, Captain’s Key, Frenchman’s Harbor, Nativa, Harbour Isles, and North Palm Yacht Club showcase Mediterranean-inspired estates while neighborhoods like North Palm Country Club, Hidden Key, Juno Isles, Pleasant Ridge, and North Palm Beach village present Old-Florida style houses. Luxury condos in North Palm Beach include Old Port Cove, Gemini, Everglades, Twelve Oaks, Ocean Trace, Lands End at the Yacht Club, Governors Point, Seamark, and Waterway West. Lost Tree Village also offers oceanfront condos conveniently located by the community’s Beach House and tennis facility. With all the amenities of a big city and ambiance of a lazy fishing town, it is no surprise that the town’s motto, “The Best Place to Live Under the Sun,” rings true to families fortunate enough to live here.
